那時，耶和華的靈在會中臨到利未人亞薩的後裔─瑪探雅的玄孫，耶利的曾孫，比拿雅的孫子，撒迦利雅的兒子雅哈悉。 14 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly.

他說：「猶大眾人、耶路撒冷的居民，和約沙法王，你們請聽。耶和華對你們如此說：『不要因這大軍恐懼驚惶；因為勝敗不在乎你們，乃在乎神。 15 He said: 「Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.

Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you. 」

次日清早，眾人起來往提哥亞的曠野去。出去的時候，約沙法站著說：「猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪，要聽我說：信耶和華─你們的神就必立穩；信他的先知就必亨通。」 20 Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, 「Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.」

約沙法既與民商議了，就設立歌唱的人，頌讚耶和華，使他們穿上聖潔的禮服，走在軍前讚美耶和華說：「當稱謝耶和華，因他的慈愛永遠長存！」 21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his 20:21 Or （（him with the splendor of）） holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: 「Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.」

眾人方唱歌讚美的時候，耶和華就派伏兵擊殺那來攻擊猶大人的亞捫人、摩押人，和西珥山人，他們就被打敗了。 22 As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.
